Dirty Mop – Domestic Cleaning Services

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the agreement between you (“Client”, “you”) and Dirty Mop (“Company”, “we”, “our”, “us”) for the provision of domestic cleaning services. By booking a service with Dirty Mop, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Services Provided

  • Dirty Mop provides professional domestic cleaning services, which may include:
    • Dusting, vacuuming, and mopping floors
    • Cleaning kitchens and bathrooms
    • Wiping down surfaces
    • General tidying
    • Other household cleaning tasks as agreed
  • Additional services (e.g., oven cleaning, internal window cleaning, fridge defrosting, etc.) are available upon request and may incur extra charges.
  • We do not offer services such as lifting heavy items, pest control, or outdoor/yard work unless explicitly agreed.

3. Bookings and Appointments

  • Bookings can be made via phone, email, or through our website.
  • Services are available on a one-off, weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis.
  • All bookings are subject to availability.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or reschedule bookings at our discretion.

4. Access to the Property

  • The Client is responsible for providing access to the property at the scheduled time.
  • If access is not available (e.g., keys not left, someone not home), the full service fee may still be charged.
  • If we are provided with a key, it will be securely stored and only used for the purposes of service delivery.

5. Cleaning Products and Equipment

  • Dirty Mop will provide its own cleaning products and equipment unless otherwise agreed.
  • If the Client prefers the use of their own products, we are not liable for any damage caused by such products.
  • The Client must ensure that hot water, electricity, and reasonable working conditions are available on-site.

6. Pricing and Payment

  • Prices are quoted based on the size of the property and cleaning tasks requested.
  • Minimum booking duration is 2 hours, unless stated otherwise.
  • Payment is due immediately upon completion unless other arrangements are made in writing.
  • Accepted payment methods: [e.g., bank transfer, debit/credit card, cash]
  • Late payments may incur a fee of £10 or 5% of the outstanding balance, whichever is greater.
  • All prices include VAT (if applicable).

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • The Client must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a booking.
  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged 50% of the service fee.
  • If a Cleaner arrives at the property and cannot gain entry, the full fee will be charged.
  • Dirty Mop may cancel or reschedule services in cases of emergency or events beyond our control (e.g., severe weather, illness).

8. Satisfaction Guarantee and Complaints

  • If you are not satisfied with our service, please contact us within 24 hours of the appointment.
  • We will arrange a re-clean of the area(s) in question free of charge if the complaint is justified.
  • After 24 hours, complaints may not qualify for a free re-clean.

9. Health & Safety

  • Dirty Mop complies with all applicable health and safety regulations.
  • The Client agrees to provide a safe working environment.
  • Our staff are instructed not to move heavy furniture or work in unsafe conditions.

10. Damage and Liability

  • We take care in our work, but accidents can happen.
  • Dirty Mop has public liability insurance to cover accidental damage caused by our cleaners.
  • Damage or breakage must be reported within 24 hours of the service.
  • We are not liable for:
    • Pre-existing damage
    • Fragile or unsecured items
    • Wear and tear

11. Pets and Children

  • The Client must inform us in advance if pets will be present.
  • Pets should be secured during cleaning to avoid distraction or accidents.
  • Cleaners are not responsible for pet care.
  • For safety, children should be supervised and kept out of active cleaning areas.

12. Termination of Services

  • Either party may terminate an ongoing service agreement with 7 days’ written notice.
  • Immediate termination may occur in cases of abuse, unsafe conditions, or breach of these Terms.

13. Privacy and Data Protection

  • Dirty Mop processes client information in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties without consent.

14. Force Majeure

  • Dirty Mop is not liable for any delay or failure to perform services due to events beyond our control, including but not limited to illness, extreme weather, natural disasters, or national emergencies.

15. Amendments to Terms

  • Dirty Mop reserves the right to update these Terms at any time.
  • The latest version will be published on our website and/or sent to clients via email.

16. Governing Law
